All thanks and praises are due to Allah, the Sustainer, the Cherisher, the Giver, the All-knowing and All-sufficient, for providing the material wherewithal and the motivation for the execution of this project.
Yusuf Olaolu Ali Foundation is a philanthropic non-governmental organisation dedicated to the development of humanity through the improvement of the quality of life of Nigerians. The Foundation was founded by this servant of Allah, in 2009, to formalize the various intervention to indigent citizens of Nigeria, with special focus on areas of healthcare, education, enlightenment and feeding of the poor, to mention but a few.
The Foundation has taken practical steps in its different areas of intervention to ease the plight of the poor. In the area of healthcare for instance, the Foundation has built a Trauma Center, a Renal Dialysis Center, renovated a part of a General hospital and assists over 600 patients to settle hospital bills within and outside of Nigeria over the years. In education, the Foundation awards annual scholarships to a specified number of students in Ilorin and Ifetedo. It has also built E-Resource Center, E-Library and hostels in several higher institutions of learning in the country. It also has an annual scholarship to pay the WAEC and NECO fees of 50 indigent students of Ibadan Boys’ High School in Ibadan and also supports indigent law students to settle part of their law school fees, to mention but a few.
The choice of education, as one of the points for intervention, is understandable because education is the key to everything that is good in our world today. It is also the key to the future and helps discipline our children for the intellectual challenges of the rest of the 21st century. The Foundation has therefore chosen to make another form of intervention in education in the two states that form major parts of the Founder’s roots (Kwara and Osun). As the saying goes, ‘no matter where life takes you, don’t forget your roots’. Therefore, having handed over 10,000 copies of exercise books to the Kwara State Government, sometime last month, today we are handing over 10,000 exercise books to the Government of Osun State, to be distributed among students in the State, as the Honourable Commissioner for Education may deem fit. It is our hope that this little effort will ginger and galvanise better endowed persons to also contribute to the development of education in Nigeria.
I thank My Children, Members of My Family, My Friends, My Colleagues in Ghalib Chambers, the Non-lawyers in Ghalib Chambers and all others, too numerous to mention, who, by words of encouragement, have always assisted in the execution of the Foundation’s projects. I thank the Members of the Board of Trustees for their selfless service to the Foundation
Ultimately, all gratitude is due to Allah
To the glory of Allah and the service to humanity, I hereby present to you, 10,000 copies of Yusuf Olaolu Ali Foundation customized exercise books.
